MAINTAINING HEALTH THROUGH AYURVEDA
Ayurveda (the science of life) is the world’s oldest system of healing. Ayurveda is known as the sister science of Yoga. Ayurveda is now re-emerging worldwide as a sustainable health solution that suggests the ideal way to live, to have a lengthy and healthy existence without any stress and strain accumulated in our daily life.
Ayurveda’s perspective on effective health care is divided into two dimensions – maintenance of health using discipline in daily life and rejuvenation therapies and treating diseases through medication.
Maintaining health is an observation of systematic daily routine, especially in food habits and sleep. Also a well-planned schedule of exercise. Ayurveda details this under the head Dinacharya, it contends cycles of nature and daily activities around these cycles useful for promoting health.
Eat foods that suit the seasons and do therapies that are more effective in that particular climate. Personal hygiene is a must for good health. But Ayurveda goes beyond that and says social and civic hygiene are equally important. Ayurveda addresses the root causes of disease and imbalance, rather than just mere symptom management.
